Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8 To Release On August 29

If you’ve been eyeing the Redmi Note 7 Pro for a while, I think it’s wise to hold your decision of buying one right now. According to an official poster posted by Redmi on social media website Weibo, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is making its debut on August 29.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is coming in just months after the Redmi Note 7 Pro was launched in March. But unlike the Redmi Note 6 Pro, that was just an incremental update over the Note 5 Pro, the Note 8 Pro might prove to be a substantial upgrade over its predecessor, at least in terms of camera.

The official post that showcases the phone’s back reveals its camera setup that is nothing like we’ve seen on a Redmi phone before. It has a vertically aligned triple-camera setup that sits in the centre of the back. Sitting to the right of this setup an LED flash and what seems to be the fourth camera. The camera setup will most likely consist of a 48MP primary sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, a depth-sensing camera, and a macro sensor. This is similar to what we’ve seen on the recently launched Realme 5 Pro.

The image also reveals that the phone won’t have an in-display fingerprint sensor as the Mi A3 does. The phone will have a traditional capacitive fingerprint sensor that we’ve seen on the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The fingerprint sensor will sit right below the triple-camera setup.

We’ll also see the launch of the Redmi Note 8 along with the Redmi Note 8 Pro on August 29. Keep in mind, this is the Chinese launch for the phone and the international launch will likely follow soon. Since we’re in 2019, expect more details about the phone in the days leading to its launch. There’s a good chance we might not even have to wait until August 29 to see the phone in its full glory.
