Explore a new gaming phone, Vivo iQOO

Gaming phones have been quite the trend in China and it’s the best market if you’re looking to buy a gaming phone right now. Expanding the variety of gaming smartphones, Vivo announced a new phone in its IQOO series of gaming phones. Vivo iQOO Neo 855 is now official and brings 33W fast charging with it.

The iQOO Neo 855 replaces the IQOO Neo which was powered by a Snapdragon 845 and was a more affordable variant of the iQOO. As the name suggests, the iQOO Neo 855 is powered by a Snapdragon 855 and up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. Only the base variant, which has a configuration of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage employs UFS 2.1 storage. The phone also has a liquid cooling solution that efficiently dissipates heat across the whole device to sustain peak CPU and GPU performance.

The phone has a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The display doesn’t support higher refresh rates like other gaming phones such as Nubia RedMagic 3s or ASUS ROG Phone 2 do. Although, it does boast of DC dimming and HDR10 certification.

The back of the phone houses a triple-camera setup that consists of a 12MP primary snapper, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and a 2MP depth sensor. The selfie snapper is a 16MP sensor. The battery pack is rated at 4,500mAh and supports 33W fast charging that is a step up from the 22W fast charging support on its predecessor.

The iQOO Neo 855 is available in three colours of Icelandic Aurora, Neon Purple and Carbon Black. As of now, it’s only available for sale in China and will be available in four variants i.e. 6GB RAM + 64GB (UFS 2.1), 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and lastly, and the 8GB + 256GB variant that are priced at RMB 1,998 (~ INR 20,100), RMB 2,298 (~ INR 23,100), RMB 2,498 (~ INR 25,100), and RMB 2,498 (~ INR 25,100) respectively.
