Honor V30, Honor V30 Pro Will Launch In November With Kirin 990, 5G Support

Honor President, Zhao Ming, has confirmed that the Honor V30 and the Honor V30 Pro will be launched in November with 5G support. The V30 will be a successor to the Honor V20 (known as Honor View 20 in global markets) that was announced in December last year. The V30 will come to global markets like India under the View 30 moniker.

The V30 Pro, being a flagship phone, will be powered by the Kirin 990 5G SoC that is the first SoC with 5G embedded in it. Based on a 7nm manufacturing process, the chip was first used in Huawei’s flagship; the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. The chip supports dual-mode NSA and SA 5G connectivity protocols. Apart from this, there are no official details that were spoken about by the Zhao Ming.

But the Honor V30 did get onboard the leak train last month when a live image of the phone made it to the internet. The image revealed the phone to have a dual punch-hole selfie camera compared to the single punch-hole camera found on the V20. The display spreads edge-to-edge and seems to be curved at the sides. Since the Huawei Mate 30 Pro adopted a waterfall display this year, it doesn’t seem too farfetched for the V30 to get some curves too.

A recent leak also suggested that the V30 Pro will come with a quad-camera setup with a 60MP sensor being the primary one. The phone will house a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W SuperCharge fast charging support and 15W wireless charging. The regular V30, on the other hand, will have a triple-camera setup with a 60MP primary sensor. The battery will be rated at 4,000mAh and will support 22.5W SuperCharge tech. Another differentiating factor will be the display technology used. While the V30 will have an LCD display, the more-expensive V30 Pro will have an AMOLED display.
