Moto G8 Plus, Key specifications

The Moto G8 Plus is a successor to the Moto G7 Plus that was launched in Feb, earlier this year. The G8 Plus will be powered by the Snapdragon 665 SoC that we’ve seen in budget phones like the Xiaomi Mi A3 and the Realme 5. The 665 will be paired with 4GB of RAM and will come in two storage variants of 64GB and 128GB with the option to expand the memory via a microSD card slot.

At the front, the phone features a 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch to house the front camera. Notably, Motorola branding is no longer present on the chin of the phone and is now clean. A wide speaker grille might suggest for a stereo speaker setup on the phone.

The phone houses a triple-camera setup at the back that comprises of a primary 48MP sensor, a 16MP ultrawide sensor which is apparently going to be marketed as an action cam (like the Moto One Action), and finally a 5MP depth sensor for portraits. The 4th circle, that might seem like a camera lens, actually houses the laser focus system that’ll allow the camera to focus quickly. For selfies, there is a 25MP sensor.

The phone has a 4,000mAh battery and will support Moto’s Turbo Charging via a USB Type-C port. The body is expected to be made of plastic and will come in at least two colors: Blue & Red. The source also mentions that the phone will be announced in Brazil on October 24 and will then make its way to Europe.
