Google Nest Mini Smart Speaker Launched In India

After its global debut alongside the Google Pixel 4 in October, the Google Nest Mini has finally made its way to India. The Google Nest Mini is a successor to the Google Home Mini that was launched about two years ago in India and brings about some integral updates to the hardware.

The Nest Mini looks very similar to the Google Home Mini because most of the changes are under the hood. Firstly, the Google Nest Mini now features a dedicated machine learning chip that boasts of 1 TeraOPS of processing power. This practically means that the processing that previously took at Google’s data centers is now moved to the device itself which makes it much more responsive.

Most importantly, the Google Nest Mini now features better sound output. Google claims that the bass is now twice as powerful as it was on the Home Mini. The sound profile is richer and “more natural” too. The good speakers are a boon as the Nest Mini works with most leading music streaming services such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Gaana, JioSaavn, and Wynk.

If you have any other Nest speakers, the Nest Mini can be connected with them to build a sound system. The Assistant on Nest Mini is also now smarter than it was ever before. For starters, the Assistant will automatically adjust the volume of output depending on the sound levels in the environment. For instance, if the TV is turned on the Nest Mini will automatically increase its volume to make sure it’s audible.

The Google Nest Mini features a hook for easy wall-mounting and has a new power connector port and cable. It is priced at INR 4,499 in India.
