How To Install The All-New Microsoft Office Application On Your Smartphone

Microsoft, until now, had standalone apps for its different services that came under the umbrella of Office. the improve the mobile experience, Microsoft has released a new application that’s simply named ‘Office’ which clubs the functionality of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in a single application.

But since the application was announced in public preview, users just can’t simply install the application from iOS’s App Store or Android’s Google Play Store. Unfortunately, for iOS users who haven’t already downloaded the Office will have to wait until the final application is released on the App Store. This is due to Apple limiting public previews to 10,000 users only.

Fortunately, the Google Play Store has no such limits and getting access to the application is quite simple. Follow the steps below to get access to Microsoft Office for mobile on your Android phone.

  • To get access to the public preview version of Office, head over to the Google Group for the application here.
  • Using the Google account that’s present on your Android phone, send a request to be a part of the group.
  • The request will be accepted automatically and will lead you to the tester program page.
  • Here, click on ‘BECOME A TESTER’.
  • Once you’ve entered the testing program, head over to the Play Store landing page of the application by clicking on the link given on the page.
It’s important to note that the Microsoft Office application is not a replacement for the individual Office applications. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint applications will continue to exist and receive updates in the future. The Office application is just a different experience that aims at consolidating all your Office stuff in a single application to enhance productivity.
