Oppo Reno 3 Series With ColorOS 7, Dual-5G Support Will Launch In December


Oppo’s all-new ColorOS 7 update in China, the BBK-owned company also revealed that the Oppo Reno 3 5G will be the first phone to run on the updated user interface out of the box. Shortly after, the company took to Weibo to announce that the Oppo Reno Series 3 will debut in December.

This is the first official announcement regarding the upcoming series and there’s not a lot of information available about the phone. But Oppo has confirmed that the Reno Series 3 will come with dual-mode 5G support which means that it’ll be compatible with both NSA and SA standards. Apart from official information, we have some more information via the grapevine that tells us about what we can expect from the phone.

A tipster on Weibo leaked the specifications and the price of the Oppo Reno 3. According to the source, the phone will have a quad-camera setup that will consist of a primary 60MP sensor, a 13MP sensor, an 8MP sensor, and a 2MP sensor. Up-front, the phone is expected to have a 32MP selfie camera. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, this selfie camera might be employed in a shark-fin pop-up module.

The phone is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 735 chip and will be paired with 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB. The display is expected to be a 6.5-inch FullHD+ AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90Hz that we’ve already seen on phones like the Oppo Reno Ace and the Realme X2 Pro. Finally, the phone is said to feature a 4,500mAh battery unit with support for 30W VOOC fast charging.

The price of the Oppo Reno 3 is expected to cost RMB 3,299 (~INR 33,400) for the 8GB+128GB variant and RMB 3,599 (~INR 36,500) for the 8GB+256GB variant. There is no information regarding the phone’s launch in international markets like India and Europe yet.
