Oppo Find X2 finally got the launch date

The flagship phone from the BBK-owned OPPO won accolades for bringing a never-seen-before design. Although we didn’t see a successor to the phone in 2019, OPPO has confirmed that the OPPO Find X2 will be launched in the first quarter of 2020.

The OPPO Find X2 will target a different audience than the Reno series. Being a premium flagship, it will be gleaming from the top of the hierarchy as far as OPPO’s phones are concerned. OPPO has confirmed that the phone will be powered by the recently-unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. Since the Snapdragon 865 will be paired with the Snapdragon X55 5G modem, we can expect the Find X2 to boast of 5G support. Although, the phone won’t support mmWave technology and will only have support for sub-6Ghz frequencies which are more prevalent in markets other than America.

OPPO also wants us to know that the Find X2 will have an industry-leading display that is expected to excel in all parameters such as refresh rate, resolution, colors, and dynamic range. The OPPO Find X was one the first smartphone to not have a notch and hence we can expect the Find X2 to also not have a notch. The phone could instead employ the under-display camera that they recently unveiled at the OPPO Inno Day 2019.

In terms of camera, the phone will feature Sony’s latest image sensor technology to create a larger sensor size for better light sensitivity. In fact, the phone will be using Sony’s new 2x2 On-Chip Lens solution that brings a new “All Pixel Omni-directional PDAF” which improves overall focus performance.

As of now, this is all we know about the phone but we can expect OPPO to trickle-feed us more information as we head closer to the launch of the phone.
