Samsung Galaxy Fold hit the 1 million mark, Sales reaches a whopping USD 2 billion

Samsung Galaxy Fold has convinced a million people that the future is now and they could experience it by spending a mere USD 1,980 (INR 1,64,990). Yeah, the Korean company has officially confirmed that the phone that sales of the divisive smartphone hit the 1 million mark. When the sales numbers are translated into dollars, the number almost reaches a whopping USD 2 billion.

For a phone that was embroiled in controversy, this is quite a milestone. When Samsung originally launched the phone, the fragile display didn’t fare well for early reviewers. Realizing it needed more work, Samsung put in about half a year more and rereleased an updated version that Samsung claimed was more durable.

The Galaxy Fold was a fresh breath of air and has really convinced that foldable phones were indeed the future. “It’s a brazen leader that marks the dawn of a new school of thought in the world of smartphones.”

Good for Samsung that they’re already in the development of their second foldable phone. This phone is expected to have a clamshell form factor that we recently saw in the resurrected Moto Razr 2019. Some reports indicate that the phone might be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy S11 series in February. Also, this second foldable phone is expected to be much more affordable than the pricey Samsung Galaxy Fold.
