India want to ban these 52 China-linked apps


Indian intelligence agencies have reportedly asked the government to block 52 apps with links to China. This move comes due to the concerns that these apps are not safe and have extracted a large amount of user data to servers outside India, as per the report by the Hindustan Times. Notably, the list contains popular apps like TikTok, UC Browser, and ShareIt. Without wasting any time, lets jump right into the list:

As per the report, the agencies have asked the government to either block these apps or advise people against using these apps. Citing a senior government official, the report says that the recommendation from the intelligence agencies against these apps has “recently been supported by the National Security Council Secretariat, which felt these could be detrimental to India’s security.”

For now, the government has neither taken any action against these apps nor issued advisories against them to users.
